Is God peaceful or warlike?

Read the King James Version it says exactly what God is and that is a JUST GOD. He loves, dislikes, feels, creates, destroys and declares war. God does nothing without reason and purpose. God had reasons for making war on the people in the Bible you refer to. So reread it and not from an NIV. The Niv is fine but takes a lot of poetic liscence.
