Republican sympathizers, if it were Newt Gingrich / Willard Mitt Romney ?

Dem sympathizer here, but I'll apply anyway. Newt Gingrich on a presidential ticket is a surefire loser. Romney shouldn't play second-fiddle on a ticket to someone he could beat, and he could easily beat Gingrich. If McCain loses this year, and Romney's not his running mate, than Romney's got the inside track in 2012.
