Can a Catholic and a Baptist raise a child together?

My dad was raised in the Catholic church and my mom was as well but converted into Baptist at some point in her life. My parents exposed me to both religions and I think we have the same beliefs with the exception of tradition. So I consider myself as someone who believes in God and in the bible but not so much religion. My boyfriend proposed to me and I said yes, but he is only Catholic. I told him I want to expose our future children to both religions and let them decided and he is against it big time. He wont have it any other way than Catholicism in our house. This includes our wedding and how are children are going to be raised. I don't know why I fell so strongly against this. Has anyone ever been in a similar situation and what did you do?
