My desktop affected by w32.imaut.aa, Iam cleared with symantenow the pc is not enter into destop. pls hlp me?

My desktop is affected by exe viruse so i am cleared with the symantec after that it ask for the restart. when i proceed with restart after that the system boots upto welcome appears with mouse pointer. then it stays in it . no other process is not going on pls help me
