In the Graveyard of Empires America's War in Afghanistan?

Given it was the US who initially supported and strengthened the Taliban, taught them how to grow drugs for gun money ... they really ought to be able to defeat them now. Maybe in a while US policy will swing round to supporting them again. Who knows, it's unstable enough.
