Would you agree that this is a clic example of global warming denial?
Sure, but the crazy thing is that it doesn't matter. One can demonstrate over and over again with substantiated evidence that climate change is real and is, at least in part, due to human activity and there will still be people saying "but it's cold today here," and "you can't 'prove' that." It's just the nature of the beast. Something that is so big and hard to understand is frightening to many people and instead of overcoming their insecurities they withdraw and hide behind tired rhetoric. They tend to huddle in groups because there's safety in numbers and it's less likely that someone will break rank if they're breathing down each others' necks. It's sad, really. This is clearly the wrong place for climate change discussion because people don't understand science let alone climate science. I've actually heard one gentleman reference his high school teacher (30 years ago) as a source of information on the subject--really!? Folks that come here hoping to learn something about climate science are not served well at all. It's like going to an ice cream shop when you're having a heart attack. Would you like sprinkles with that?
