Would Russian tanks last long against US forces in a fight?
The soviet thinking from the cold war on was more about the numbers than the quality of the equipment. The overall strategy was that the numbers would make up for the technological superiority of the US equipment. Even today I do not believe the Russian equipment is anywhere close to US technology. Pure tank on tank, he would need to have a 4-1 or 5-1 numerical advantage. If you factor in the US air superiority and the lack of experience his forces have operating the Russian tanks, it would be a rather anti-climactic battle.
