Your clearance will have to be completed before you can begin your first ignment or you will be igned to do work that does not involve sensitive materials..basically errands, clean up and transportation. Getting a security clearance at that level is a lot of work and extremely exspensive. If you can't get it, the military will generally not even send you to that tech school as it would be a waste of the cost of your education if you couldn't use it. The clearance is not automatic..they will look at your life closely..your family, your friends, your criminal background (if there is anything there..even a misdemeanor ..it will pretty much make you ineligable), your credit rating, past employers and even some of these issues for your friends and family. This is not a casual choice. Your life will be under tight scrutiny even after you are approved. You will not be able to discuss your job even with family, mention it in any form on the internet and your clearance will be renewed at regular intervals. Isssues like speeding tickets, financial problems and even derpression could lead to a loss of clearance and have to be reigned elsewhere. However, the clearance and the experience will go far once you get out, making you an attractive hire for many military agencies and contractors.
