Can I title a short film with a name that is identical to the title of a fake film mentioned in a cartoon?

I'm making a short film and I want to name it something that was also the title of a fake film in a popular cartoon show. My film is not related to the cartoon show nor does it mimic, or otherwise borrow any elements from the cartoon show or the fake film mentioned in the cartoon show. It just has the same title. Is this legal or does it violate some kind of copyright or trademark law?
